The “Romford Pele” himself, Ray Parlour, was our main guest at the clubs Sportsman’s Evening on Saturday 22nd September 2016. Also on the bill was comedian Willie Thompson.

The evening began with a “heads and tails” quiz about  Ray Parlour and then went in into a hilarious session from Willie Thompson.

After a break for a hot supper and the raffle Ray regaled us with stories from his time as an Arsenal and England player. He was an excellent speaker and kept the whole hall enthralled and amused with tales about Martin Keown, Arsene Wenger, Kevin Keegan and many others.

The evening finished with a sports memorabilia auction.

This was the third consecutive year we have held a sportsman’s evening at the Snodland Community Centre following on from evenings with Paul Merson and Neil ” Razor” Ruddock.
